Cat. No.: HY-P77661
Handling Instructions

FGFR-2 beta is a tyrosine protein kinase that serves as a cell surface receptor for fibroblast growth factor and is critical for cell regulation, proliferation, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis. It plays important roles in embryonic development, trophoblast function, limb buds, lungs, osteogenesis, and skin development. FGFR-2 beta (IIIb) Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived FGFR-2 beta, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag. The total length of FGFR-2 beta (IIIb) Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is 225 a.a., with molecular weight of 50-70 kDa.

Background

FGFR-2 beta, a tyrosine-protein kinase, operates as a cell-surface receptor for fibroblast growth factors, playing a pivotal role in the intricate regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis, as well as embryonic development. It is indispensable for normal embryonic patterning, trophoblast function, limb bud development, lung morphogenesis, osteogenesis, and skin development. Furthermore, FGFR-2 beta is crucial for the regulation of osteoblast differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis, contributing significantly to normal skeleton development. While promoting cell proliferation in keratinocytes and immature osteoblasts, it induces apoptosis in differentiated osteoblasts. Through phosphorylation of PLCG1, FRS2, and PAK4, FGFR-2 beta initiates diverse signaling cascades upon ligand binding. Activation of PLCG1 leads to the production of diacylglycerol and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate. Additionally, phosphorylation of FRS2 triggers the recruitment of GRB2, GAB1, PIK3R1, and SOS1, mediating the activation of RAS, MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK3/ERK1, the MAP kinase signaling pathway, and the AKT1 signaling pathway. FGFR2 signaling is tightly regulated through ubiquitination, internalization, and degradation processes. Mutations disrupting normal maturation, internalization, or degradation of FGFR-2 lead to aberrant signaling, including constitutive kinase activation. Overexpression of FGFR-2 promotes the activation of STAT1.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
