PARM-1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P73730
Handling Instructions

PARM-1 Protein is a highly glycosylated, mucin-like type 1 transmembrane protein primarily located at the plasma membrane and in the endocytic pathway. PARM-1 is also a pro-proliferative and anti-apoptotic glycoprotein involved in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response, and its presence in most human tissues with especially high expression in heart, kidney and placenta. PARM-1 may regulate TLP1 expression and telomerase activity, thus enabling certain prostatic cells to resist apoptosis. PARM-1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived PARM-1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Background

Prostate androgen-regulated mucin-like protein 1 (PARM-1) is a highly glycosylated, mucin-like type 1 transmembrane protein primarily located at the plasma membrane and in the endocytic pathway. PARM-1 is also a pro-proliferative and anti-apoptotic glycoprotein involved in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response, and its presence in most human tissues with especially high expression in heart, kidney and placenta. PARM-1 contributes to ovulation and/or luteal function by acting as a novel regulator of progesterone metabolism. PARM-1 may regulate TLP1 expression and telomerase activity, thus enabling certain prostatic cells to resist apoptosis. Moreover, ectopic expression of human PARM-1 in a prostate cancer cell line increases cell proliferation, thereby suggesting its role in the physiobiology of prostate and prostate cancer[1][2][13][4].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
