Protein S/PROS1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P74614
SDS COA Handling Instructions

Protein S/PROS1 Proteinas are potent antagonists of BMP4 and inhibit BMP4 by binding to BMP4 and preventing receptor interaction. This change redirects neural stem cells from gliogenesis to neurogenesis, thereby promoting the differentiation of neurons in the brain. Protein S/PROS1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived protein S/PROS1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Description

Protein S/PROS1 Proteinas are potent antagonists of BMP4 and inhibit BMP4 by binding to BMP4 and preventing receptor interaction. This change redirects neural stem cells from gliogenesis to neurogenesis, thereby promoting the differentiation of neurons in the brain. Protein S/PROS1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived protein S/PROS1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Background

Chordin-like 1 (CHRDL1) protein acts as a potent antagonist of BMP4, exerting its inhibitory function by binding to BMP4 and preventing its interaction with receptors. This interaction results in a pivotal alteration of the fate commitment of neural stem cells, steering them away from gliogenesis towards neurogenesis. In the brain, CHRDL1 contributes to the differentiation of neural stem cells into neurons by impeding the adoption of a glial fate. Beyond its role in neural development, CHRDL1 may play a crucial role in dorsoventral axis formation and embryonic bone development. Additionally, CHRDL1 emerges as a regulator of retinal angiogenesis, modulating BMP4 actions in endothelial cells. Its involvement in anterior segment eye development further underscores the multifaceted role of CHRDL1 in orchestrating key developmental processes.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
