Serpin I2 Protein, Human (HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P71039
Handling Instructions

Serpin I2 Protein, is a member of the serpin (serine protease inhibitor) superfamily. Serpin I2 (pancpin) is an inhibitory serpin targeting pancreatic elastase and chymotrypsin. Serpin I2 is downregulated in pancreatic and breast cancer, and associated with acinar cell apoptosis and pancreatic insufficiency when absent in mice. Serpin I2 is associated with refractive error and has the potential for further investigations of the genetic susceptibility to myopia research. Serpin I2 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Serpin I2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag. The total length of Serpin I2 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is 387 a.a., with molecular weight of 44-60 kDa.

Description

Serpin I2 Protein, is a member of the serpin (serine protease inhibitor) superfamily. Serpin I2 (pancpin) is an inhibitory serpin targeting pancreatic elastase and chymotrypsin. Serpin I2 is downregulated in pancreatic and breast cancer, and associated with acinar cell apoptosis and pancreatic insufficiency when absent in mice. Serpin I2 is associated with refractive error and has the potential for further investigations of the genetic susceptibility to myopia research[1][2].

Background

Serpin I2 contains a Met-Ser within the reactive centre loop which is also found in anti-trypsin. Serpin I2 deficiency in mice caused pancreatic insufficiency and acinar cell apoptosis, resulting in a stunted pequeno phenotype with immune cell defects and reduced life span[1].
Serpin I2 polymorphisms increase susceptibility to refractive error. Serpin I2 is a promising candidate for further investigations of the genetic susceptibility to myopia. Serpin I2 is involved in acinar cells of the pancreas and may be important to control glucose metabolism[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
