Description

Tumulosic acid, a triterpenoid, inhibits KLK5 protease activity (IC50= 14.84 μM). Tumulosic acid suppresses the proteolytic processing of LL-37 in keratinocytes at ≤10 μM[1].

In Vitro

Tumulosic acid displays dose-dependent anti-KLK5 activity (IC50=19.3 μM)[1].
Tumulosic acid decreases in LL-37 production in human keratinocytes[1].
Tumulosic acid shows IC50 values of 14.84 and 10.48 μM against KLK5 and trypsin proteases, while it exhibited a weak inhibitory effect on KLK7 and chymotrypsin C proteases (19.5% and 4.0%, respectively, at 100 μM)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Western Blot Analysis[1]

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
