1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (16:1 PE) is a phosphatidylethanolamine that can enhance PP2A and PTP1B activities in malignant pleural mesothelioma cells. 1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine induces apoptosis of NCI-H28 malignant pleural mesothelioma cells[1].

In Vitro

1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DPPE; 1-100 μM; 24-48 hours) reduces NCI-H28 cell viability in a concentration-dependent manner (1-100 μM), but has no effect on Met5A (non-malignant mesothelial cells) cells[1].
1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DPPE; 100 μM; 10-60 minutes) tends to attenuate activity ofERK1/ERK2[1].
1,2-Dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DPPE; 30-100 μM; 48 hours) significantly increases TUNEL-positive NCI-H28 cells, indicating apoptosis, with minimal effect on Met5A[1].
