Description

LY 295427 is a LDL receptor modulator and a hypocholesterolemic agent. LY 295427 derepresses the transcription of the LDLR (LDL Receptor). LY 295427 can be used for hypercholesterolemia research[1][2][3].

In Vitro

LY 295427 time-dependently increases the uptake of 25-OH chol in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells[1].
LY 295427 (2.9 μM) increases 30% LDL receptor promoter activity[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

LY 295427 dose-dependently decreases cholesterol by derepressing LDL-R transcription in cholesterol-coconut oil-fed hamsters with a ED50 value of 40 mg/kg/day[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
