Phosphodiesterase II (EC 3.1.16.1), namely phosphodiesterase 2, is mainly involved in the hydrolysis of the important second messengers cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), and is often used in biochemical research.
