Cat. No.: HY-N2550
Handling Instructions

(+)-Coclaurine ((+)-(R)-Coclaurine), benzyltetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloid isolated from a variety of plant sources. (+)-Coclaurine has anti-aging activity.

At equivalent molar concentrations, both the salt and free forms of a compound exhibit comparable biological activity. Nevertheless, the salt form ((+)-Coclaurine hydrochloride) usually boasts enhanced water solubility and stability.

In Vivo

An intracerebroventricular injection of (+)-Coclaurine (d-Coclaurine; 50 μg) produces a slight increase in 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid level and a significant increase in homovanillic acid level in the mouse striatum. (+)-Coclaurine blocks postsynaptic but not presynaptic dopamine receptors in the mouse striatum[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
