ACE2 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His-Fc)

Cat. No.: HY-P74433
COA Handling Instructions

ACE2 protein is an important carboxypeptidase in the renin-angiotensin system, which can regulate blood volume and vascular resistance and maintain cardiovascular homeostasis. It converts angiotensin I to the antihypertrophic angiotensin 1-9 and angiotensin II to the vasodilatory angiotensin 1-7, thereby opposing vasoconstriction. ACE2 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His-Fc) is the recombinant mouse-derived ACE2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-hFc, C-His, C-8*His labeled tag. The total length of ACE2 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His-Fc) is 723 a.a., with molecular weight of ~130 kDa.

Background

ACE2, an essential counter-regulatory carboxypeptidase within the renin-angiotensin hormone system, serves as a critical regulator of blood volume and systemic vascular resistance, contributing to cardiovascular homeostasis. Its enzymatic activity includes the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin 1-9, a peptide with anti-hypertrophic effects in cardiomyocytes, and angiotensin II to angiotensin 1-7, known for its vasodilatory and anti-proliferative properties, thereby counteracting the vasoconstrictor actions of angiotensin II. ACE2 further plays a role in amino acid transport, acting as a binding partner for the amino acid transporter SLC6A19, regulating its cell surface trafficking and activity. Additionally, ACE2 contributes to the regulation of various vasoactive peptides, such as neurotensin, kinetensin, and des-Arg bradykinin, as well as other biological peptides like apelins, casomorphins, and dynorphin A. Its multifaceted functions position ACE2 as a pivotal player in cardiovascular and amino acid homeostasis.

Biological Activity

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Mouse ACE2, at 2 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Biotinylated SARS-CoV-2 S1 protein. The ED50 for this effect is 149.1 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 6706.9 Unit/mg.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
