ALDH3A1 Protein, Human (sf9, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P75568
Handling Instructions

The ALDH3A1 protein is critical for acetaldehyde detoxification in alcohol metabolism, oxidizing medium- and long-chain aldehydes to nontoxic fatty acids. They are involved in the metabolism of corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation. ALDH3A1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived ALDH3A1 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag. The total length of ALDH3A1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is 453 a.a., with molecular weight of ~50 kDa.

Background

ALDH3A1 proteins play a crucial role in detoxifying acetaldehyde derived from alcohol metabolism, participating in the oxidation of medium and long-chain aldehydes into non-toxic fatty acids. Additionally, they are implicated in the metabolism of various compounds, including corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation. This enzyme exhibits a preference for aromatic aldehyde substrates and constitutes approximately 50 percent of corneal epithelial soluble proteins, potentially contributing to the protection against corneal damage induced by ultraviolet light.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
