Description

It also promotes immunoglobulin production, growth and differentiation in B cells. IL-5 Protein, Canine (sf9, His) is the recombinant canine-derived IL-5 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag.

Background

IL-5 Protein is a homodimeric cytokine mainly expressed by T-lymphocytes and NK cells, playing a crucial role in the survival, differentiation, and chemotaxis of eosinophils. It also acts on B-cells, promoting immunoglobulin production, growth, and differentiation. Mechanistically, IL-5 Protein exerts its effects by binding to a receptor composed of IL5RA and CSF2RB subunits, activating kinases such as LYN, SYK, and JAK2. This activation leads to signal propagation through the RAS-MAPK and JAK-STAT5 pathways. IL-5 Protein exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer and interacts with IL5RA and CSF2RB subunits.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
