Description

Janelia Fluor 669, SE (JF669, SE), a red fluorescent dye, can be directly reacted with the available thiol-containing HaloTag ligand under mild conditions (DIEA, DMF) to afford a JF669HaloTag ligand in a single step (Ex = 669 nm; Em = 682 nm)[1]. Janelia Fluor products are licensed under U.S. Pat. Nos. 9,933,417, 10,018,624 and 10,161,932 and other patents from Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

In Vitro

JF669 undergoes rapid conversion to thioether product (<5 min to completion) in organic solvents, where the dye predominantly adopts the closed form[1].
JF669 displays comparatively excellent photostability, retaining 97% fluorescence after the same number of cycles[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
