Background

Carbonic Anhydrase 11 belongs to the carbonic anhydrase (CA) family and may be involved in cell proliferation and cellular transformation. CAs are zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide and thus participate in a variety of biological and physical processes[1].
Carbonic Anhydrase 11 are found in many organisms, in which they contribute to several important biological processes. Positive signals for CARP XI can be observed in the cerebellum, cerebrum, liver, stomach, small intestine, colon, kidney, and testis[2].
