Description

Meclofenoxate (Centrophenoxine) hydrochloride is an ester synthesized from DMAE and pCPA, capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier, and can stimulate memory and enhance cognition[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Meclofenoxate Hydrochloride (10 µM, 24 hours) significantly protects mitochondrial function in primary neurons, restoring mitochondrial morphology, reversing Rotenone (HY-B1756)-induced mitochondrial damage, and regulating redox balance[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

RT-PCR[3]

Cell Line: Murine primary neurons (Parkinson’s disease model induced by Rotenone (HY-B1756))
Concentration: 10 µM
Incubation Time: 24 h
Result: Restored mitochondrial function-related genes (Ndufa12, Cox6b1, Atp5k, Src) and reversed ROT-induced synaptic dysfunction by regulating Chrna4, Syt11, and Cdh8.
In Vivo

Meclofenoxate Hydrochloride (50 µg/g, i.p., once daily for 4 weeks) significantly improved behavioral abnormalities and depression-like symptoms in rotenone (HY-B1756)-induced Parkinson's disease mice[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Rotenone (HY-B1756)-induced Parkinson’s disease model in C57B/L mice[3]
Dosage: 50 µg/g
Administration: Intraperitoneal injection (i.p.), once daily for 4 weeks
Result: Reduced anhedonia in the sucrose preference test, improved motor deficits in behavioral tests.

In Vivo:

For the following dissolution methods, please prepare the working solution directly. It is recommended to prepare fresh solutions and use them promptly within a short period of time.
The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
