5'-Guanylic acid  (Synonyms: 5'-GMP; 5'-guanosine monophosphate)

Cat. No.: HY-N5134 Purity: 99.69%
Handling Instructions Technical Support

5'-Guanylic acid is a purine nucleotide that participates in physiological processes such as energy metabolism, signal transduction, and gene expression regulation. 5'-Guanylic acid regulates the expression of genes related to fatty acid metabolism. 5'-Guanylic acid is the weak agonist for ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluR), reduces the activity of the glutamatergic system and exhibits neuroprotective effect. 5'-Guanylic acid also causes neuronal cell death at high concentrations.

Human Endogenous Metabolite

In Vitro

5'-Guanylic acid (50-500 μM, 48 h) regulates the expression of genes involved in fatty acid metabolism, affects fatty acid composition in Oncorhynchus mykiss hepatocytes, and regulates fatty acid metabolism[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Real Time qPCR[1]

Cell Line: Oncorhynchus mykiss hepatocytes
Concentration: 50-500 μM
Incubation Time: 12-48 h
Result: Upregulated the expressions of Δ5 fads2, elovl2, elovl5 and srebp-1.
Downregulated the expression of pparα.
In Vivo

5'-Guanylic acid (10-150 mg/kg, ip, single dose) exhibits anti-anxiety effect in Wistar rats models[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Wistar rats models[2].
Dosage: 10-150 mg/kg

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
