Description

Stachyose, a kind of oligosaccharides, act as a hypoglycemic agent[1].

IC50 & Target

Human Endogenous Metabolite

In Vivo

Stachyose (oral gavage; 200 mg/kg; 17 days) combines with Berberine (100 mg/kg) produces better hypoglycemic effects than berberine alone. stachyose alone does not decrease the glycaemia of diabetic db/db mice. Additonally, the expression of mucin‐2 is decreased in the Sta + BBR and Sta groups, with a decrease of 2.4% and 2.1%, respectively; and no change is found in the BBR group[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
