Foxy-5, a WNT5A agonist, is a mimicking peptide of WNT5A which is a non-canonical member of the Wnt family. Foxy-5 triggers cytosolic free calcium signaling without affecting β-catenin activation and it impairs the migration and invasion of epithelial cancer cells. Foxy-5 effectively reduces the metastatic spread of WNT5A-low prostate cancer cells in an orthotopic mouse model.

IC50 & Target

WNT5A[2]

In Vitro

Foxy-5 (100 μM, 24 h) inhibits the invasion of tumor cells in DU145 cells[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Invasion Assay[3]

Cell Line: DU145, PC3
Concentration: 100 μM
Incubation Time: 24 h
Result: Reduced DU145 cell invasion by 40%.
In Vivo

Foxy-5 (2 mg/kg intraperitoneally injected 9 times a day for 7-23 days) reduces the number of colon cancer stem cells in a mouse model of human colon cancer xenotransplantation[2].
Foxy-5 (2 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection, once a day, for 3-9 weeks) significantly reduces the early metastasis and spread of WNT5A low DU145 prostate cancer cells in a mouse model of prostate cancer xenotransplantation[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
