Description

PG 34 is a weak O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) inhibitor (IC50=68 μM), and a close structural analog of OSMI-1 (HY-119738)[1].

In Vitro

PG34 (0.5-50 μM; 24 h) shows no detectable inhibition of OGT in CHO cells, displays no effect on apoptotic signaling, and shows a moderate effect on cell viability only at the highest concentration[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Viability Assay[1]

Cell Line: CHO cells
Concentration: 0.5-50 µM
Incubation Time: 24 hours
Result: Inhibited cell growth moderately at 50 µM.

Western Blot Analysis[1]

Cell Line: CHO cells
Concentration: 10, 25, and 50 µM
Incubation Time: 24 hours
Result: Showed no reduction in global O-GlcNAcylation in cells.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
